“In a 6-3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday decided to strike down a federal law banning sports gambling in most states.

New Jersey brought the case to the high court, but the decision has implications for others states, like Illinois, that could see new revenue opportunities in taxes from sports betting. 

We discuss the ruling – and what it could mean for Illinois – with sports journalist and legal analyst Lester Munson; and Greg Carlin, CEO of Rush Street Gaming, which owns casinos and an online gambling website. “
