Chicago Cubs:
The New York Times interviews Chicago Cubs’ owner Tom Ricketts as he reflects on the ups and downs of his journey to acquire the franchise. Despite the looming potential lawsuits from rooftop owners regarding renovations to Wrigley Field, Tom Ricketts always maintains the reality that Wrigley is a ballpark “not a museum.” He cannot put a winning team out on the field without improving facilities.
“It’s time to invest in Wrigley Field and to do the things our competitors do,” Ricketts said in defense of the revenue-generating changes he plans to make. “The brand loveable losers is dead to us. We’ll soon be lovable winners.”
