After trying to get Sheffield Avenue shut down for a few summer street fests, the Cubs decided to hold the fest on their own property. The team announced Monday the first-ever Wrigleyville Block Party, to be held this Friday-Sunday during the New York Yankees series on the west side of Wrigley Field bordering Clark Street.

With Wrigleyville residents and merchants bringing the heat, the Cubs have struck out in their efforts to close down a block-long stretch of Sheffield Avenue for nine days to make way for a family-friendly, interactive street fair.
