“Lurie Children’s Hospital next month will open an outpatient surgical center in Northbrook.
The 26,000-square-foot facility is in a Techny Road building adjacent to a smaller outpatient location that Lurie opened in 2014. Lurie plans to invest about $35.6 million in the project, according to a regulatory application. That amount includes rent.
Lurie has 12 outpatient centers in the six-county metro area and expects to bulk them up rather than to add more anytime soon, according to Monica Heenan, the hospital’s chief strategy officer. Ninety percent of Lurie’s patients reside within a 30-minute trip of its sites, she said.”
