“When Wheeler was preparing to graduate from Willow Springs High School, he’d already heard of the Universal Technical Institute (UTI), a postsecondary training school with campuses in a dozen cities nationwide. When his place of employment at that time closed, he decided it was time to get serious about doing the one thing he has loved since he was a little boy.
“Like most UTI students, I saw the ad on YouTube and, knowing I loved cars, I gave them a call to see what they were all about, and if it would be something I would like to do,” he recalled. He traveled to Chicago to begin his educational journey.
Upon graduation from UTI, Wheeler was accepted into the prestigious Porsche program offered in Atlanta. This highly competitive opportunity required a 3.75 grade-point average, 98 percent attendance and rigorous interviews with Porsche Cars North America officials in charge of the program.”
