There may be long hours, difficult standoffs with the media and tight deadlines, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! Here’s a short list of reasons why our team loves PR:

Tracey Mendrek, Executive Vice President

-Adrenaline Rush:  We all ended up in this business because we love the challenge of strategizing, communicating and writing, but truly it’s about the adrenaline rush. Sure I like down time, but mostly I like the challenge.

-Friday Follies:  I love our Friday Follies when every client has an issue, a crisis or a story they want to bury.  The energy spikes, the phones ring and away we go.

-Mentoring:  It is special to see our colleagues learn and grow in this industry. We have a special nichè in crisis management and it’s not something they teach in school.

-Interns: I can’t wait to see them walk in the door every spring.  All the things that I haven’t had time for becomes a great learning opportunity for them. I hope they love the same things about PR that we do!

Julia Schatz, Senior Account Executive

-I love that we effect what is in the news which influences public opinion.

-I love having the inside scoop on certain things going on in the city.

-Most of all…WE LOVE OUR CLIENTS!

Patrick Skarr, Senior Account Supervisor

-The great business, media and political leaders we personally get to meet and interact with because of our clients.

-No day is ever the same and that keeps my curiosity in check. I can’t think of the last time I was bored at work and that is a great feeling to have.

-The satisfaction of helping a client get through a rough period or be successful in an advocacy cause. It’s a great motivator and personally rewarding.

Ashleigh Johnston, Account Executive

-Reading and writing all day long for work! It’s what I enjoy doing in my free time, it’s what I excelled at in school, and now it’s a career.

-Always being in the know. I’m a busy body, so I love always knowing what’s going on, where it’s happening and who’s involved.

-Meeting new people. I’m a bit of a homebody and working in PR has been a great opportunity to get to know so many people.
